"For thou wilt lie upon the wings of night / Whiter than new snow upon a raven's back."
Chatting to a friend last week, he made me realise how few pictures I have posted for you to see, and so here are a few that I took on my camera while out and about this winter. They pretty much explain themselves, so click away...
My local train station - 1 - 2.
The street outside my house - 1.
My school - 1 - 2 - 3.
The view from my school - 1.
I also have two photos here from the XBox Lounge in Tokyo - 1 - 2. They have XBox360 machines available to play on, sofas for you to lounge in while you play and surround sound to listen to while you enjoy it. They serve beer, spirits and coffee, and even food. There are lots of cool gamers there, tables to sit at and lounge when you're not playing and beaufiful women sitting around reading books as if they don't have a care in the world. It might be perfect. The second photo shows the giant XBox360 logo that protudes down from the ceiling.
Recently school has been winding down and my third years are all preparing to make their way to high school. Next week is the last week before the end of the school year, with the graduation ceremony on Friday, so I will write a little more about it then.
Last weekend I went skiing at Nozawa, arguably the best resort Nagano prefecture. Although only my fourth time skiing, I managed to do all of the red runs that I tried and even conquered one of the black runs. I also managed to go over an assault course far faster than I intented that resulted in me screaming like a girl and being laughed at my all the Japanese people watching me from the ski lift.
All of this has left me with the ski bug, which is a little sad as winter is now officially over here. The weather is getting warmer every day and the patches of snow are a little smaller every morning. Spring should arrive in force next month, and I am looking forward to seeing all of the flowers and trees come back to life - my students tell me it is one of their favourite things about living in Nagano, and that it makes the harsh winter worth it.
I am sorry that this post has been a little short and maybe a little drier than usual, but I haven't had much time to commit to writing it. I will get something else up in a week or so, maybe with some pictures of graduation and potentially a video of my apartment too and some photos from skiing, so keep an eye out.
Have a good weekend, Craig.
